The current electricity mix

Our customers use over 90 percent renewable energy. By choosing this electricity product, you are assuming your responsibility for our environment in a positive way. Once a year, the entire origin of our electricity is declared and published. This gives you transparency about the origin and type of production of the energy supplied to you.

Your road to tailor-made energy solutions on the free market

If your company has access to the energy market or purchases more than 100 MWh (100,000 kWh) of electricity annually, you have the option of freely choosing your electricity provider. Take advantage of our many years of experience in the energy market! We will be happy to advise you on your procurement options – be it a fixed-price contract (cut-off date contracts) with a fixed term or our flexible procurement pool “Marktpower Plus”.

We also offer you the option of purchasing personalized certificates for your consumption. This allows you to officially identify the origin of the energy and CO₂ emissions.

Cut-off date contract

You can flexibly procure your electricity requirements at any time for one or more delivery years. After the contract period has expired, you have the freedom to change supplier.

Our offer for market customers is calculated on the basis of the current market prices and submitted to you for acceptance within a set period. The price takes into account the electricity costs, proof of origin and the risk compensation that arises from full supply.

When the contract is concluded, IBC guarantees the delivery of the agreed quantities at the set contract price.

Marktpower Plus

With conventional electricity procurement, the price depends largely on the time of procurement. This means that there are opportunities and risks in catching the right day. However, with the professional procurement model Marktpower Plus, you benefit from smoothed prices close to the market and can concentrate fully on your core business.

Marktpower Plus uses a tranche model in which energy is procured in several tranches at current market prices. This model has proven itself in both falling and rising market prices and is also used successfully by IBC in other areas. The procurement costs are based on the market prices, while risks are minimized.

A trailing stop is used to optimize the efficiency of the procurement of each tranche. If prices fall during procurement, the optimal time is waited for in order to achieve the best price.

Public lighting

We operate public lighting on behalf of the city of Chur. This is ensured by around 4,300 street lights.
We rely entirely on LED lighting, which meets the requirements for safety, energy efficiency, cost-
effectiveness and sustainability.
