Heat from wood

Haldenstein is idyllically situated between the Rhine and Calanda. The village is characterized by its impressive castle and mysterious castle ruins. But that’s not all. The heat network gives the energy town the opportunity to heat in a climate-friendly way. A wood heat network supplies many properties with environmentally friendly heat for heating and domestic hot water at the same time.

Heat from wood is not only cozy and pleasant for the indoor climate. The use of wood to generate heat is also sustainable: when it is burned, no more carbon dioxide is released than was previously bound during plant growth. In addition, fine particle emissions are avoided as far as possible using modern filter systems.

How does the heat network work?

The heat network produces heat for the properties using a wood chip heating system at a central location. A wood pellet heating system is also integrated in a decentralized manner, which enables the heat network to operate optimally all year round. The fuel supply and maintenance of the system are organized centrally. The properties connected to the heat network are supplied with exactly the amount of heat they need. The heat is transported to the customers in the form of 65-80 degree hot water via a well-insulated pipe network. There, the heat is transferred to the building’s heating system via a heat exchanger. The heat used is recorded and billed by a heat meter. For the heat customer, the heat network offers convenient, always available heat without any effort – regardless of seasonal price fluctuations and bottlenecks on the raw material markets.

The advantages on a glance

  • All-round, worry-free, year-round heat supply for your space heating and hot water
  • The space required for the heating installations in the connected buildings is reduced
  • No maintenance effort
  • ost-effective switch to a renewable energy supply for the building
  • Wood as a renewable energy source
  • Connecting to a heat network is the most reliable, cleanest and most convenient way to heat your home.
